Norway has a surprisingly warm coastal climate, considering its geographical location –t his is thanks to the influence of the Gulf Stream and makes sure that, whilst temperatures aren’t exactly tropical (averages of 16 degrees in Summer), they are warmer than one might expect in the middle of the year. Winter temperatures on the coast average around one degree. Inland, the climate is much cooler, with summer averages of 11 degrees and around minus three in winter. Thanks – again – to the country’s location, certain areas in Norway see near-perpetual daylight in midsummer and constant darkness in the winter.
